Funny old world as "no end product" JCR dumps us out and the value of quality players is rammed down our necks.

A player who was an outstanding individual talent and a committted team player, JCR ,left SUFC with hardly a thank you and turns up to win 60k prize money plus another FA cup tie for his club. For Barnsley whatever they have spent (250k?) has paid dividends already....

His replacement Tommy Black played up front for the Blues and an alleged full back (Francis) played right mid. 19 year old Hooper couldn't get anything out of a CCC defence and his replacement was a young Tottenham reserve with a few games for Crewe under his belt.

SUFC have no (GBP1.25 million) Eastwood or obviously JCR and Kevin Maher aged 32 is finding it harder to keep a shirt. Mark Gower and Hammell worked the left flank showing some quality and Barratt and Clarke seemed mostly comfortable against forwards from a league above -

Roots Hall sat quietly while Barnsley ran down the clock in the second half - the Blues never quite looking really threatening ......

After the "problems" with Leon Clarke and then the situation with Walker the horrible transfer window mess goes on and on and perhaps we are just one quality player short of being really competitive in League One.

Quality players, even unproven ones like Walker cost real money - I hope thats not going to be a problem for Ron Martin.

The BBC are covering the CCC next year and the division is already awash with money from Premirship parachute payments - it will probabley be cheaper to get up there this year than next - or even have a chance. Leon Clarke looked worth the money (but if hes wrong hes wrong) but thats the standard of quality we need -

Gutted, hate losing - effing FA cup on TV all day, on the radio - bet effing Barnsley get sone-one mega..

Don't care if Tuesday is a good old fashioned full on battle with bookings by the hatful - just do me a favour and get a result -

Positives - good gate, extra revenue, Friday night football is fab, its was good to see JCR make his point - nothing conceded from set pieces, Gower looked fitter,

Negatives - the result - 3 more days of effing FA cup bollox on all media

don't agree with this at all. considering recent weeks the support tonight was very good especially from the tbv section. they cheered the team on all game long. when they scored against the run of play the atmosphere aould have ended there and then but tbv continued and got behind the team and out sung barnsley in my opinion.

well done to tbv and can't wait to join you against leeds.

no fair comment - I was just getting frustrated when barnsley were taking so long over free kicks throwins etc ......

sitting in the east for change as well - which always reminds you how much the north bank dominates the sound at Roots Hall

Which is why we NEED it back....

Next season, we will try and make that happen..

;)

if the north bank was unreserved seating (for the "walk up" "pay on the day" element) and available to season ticket holders it would rock -

away fans in the family block ? or NW corner -

TBV is liaising with the club to (hopefully) make this a possibility for the next couple of season's, to see out our time at RH in style...

;)

When he played for us JCR DIDN'T show any evidence of having a consistent end-product. Two goals. both against WBA, were all he could muster and he seemed more interested in trying to beat his man ten times than getting a quality cross into the box.
