The independent Hillsborough report has completely exonerated any of the 96 people who died, from any responsibility whatsoever, for their own deaths. That's by far the most important thing to take on board from the publication of last week's report.
You're presumably implying,(certainly not stating directly),that some ticketless and drunken Liverpool fans deliberately or not, somehow caused the 96 deaths. That's really just a watered down version of the Sun's infamous "The Truth" headline and article.
Btw,anyone who's read Mark Lane's excellent "Rush to Judgement"(which I did in the 6th form at WHS back in 1969/70) is fully aware that there was a conspiracy, which was responsible not only for JFK's assasination but also the subsequent cover up.
Finally, and just so you get this quite clear, I'm not a liberal,I'm a socialist.I'm sure that distinction still means something, even on the brain-dead west coast of the good old US of A.:smiles:
Changing tack, Lane's "Rush to Judgement' is an important book in JFK assassination lore but is widely accepted as irrelevant now by most theorists. Try Summers' 'The Kennedy Conspiracy' or even Posner's 'Case Closed' if you really have an interest. Or are you just pulling your usual trick of trying to say that you know about 'stuff' by quoting a book that you googled?
Yet another gratuitous insult.I told you when and where I read the book.I think I borrowed a copy(IIRC) from Mr Wales,my History and GS teacher at WHS.I might even have been sufficiently inspired to buy my own copy.I really don't remember.Mr Wales even devoted a GS course to the assassination which I attended.I've not kept up with the subsequent literature but I did very much enjoy Oliver Stone's JFK.
And you're quite right, you are by no means a liberal, in the classical sense at least. Socialism and communism are intrinsically illiberal. By the way, I love the vilification of several million people by a self-promoting anti-racist crusader, I'll give you points for your chutzpah, if nothing else. You would love much of the West Coast of the USA, particularly San Francisco, it's full of wide-eyed morons, parroting the DNC's talking points, desperate to spend other people's money on unsustainable social programs. Sounds right up your street.
.
You're quite right,I very much enjoyed my visit to SF and California, back in the mid-70's.A particular highlight was a visit to Berkley, where I was interested in doing postgraduate work. Our older daughter, who visited a friend there quite recently tells me the Bay area has changed much since my time.
