If there’s better options that will sign for us and be happy to give their all in a League Two relegation battle then of course I’d prioritise those players over Nile Ranger. But I’d imagine our current league standing and failure to pay people on time, being in and out of court etc, will make attracting such players difficult.

People saying “how far have we fallen if we’re considering offering Ranger another chance?”, well in my opinion pretty bloody far. We’re bottom of League Two and have won 2 games all season. We desperately need a striker to make it stick up top, grab a few goals and bring our midfield (strongest part of the side) into play.

Would I normally consider Ranger? No. But he’s got talent far beyond League Two, feels like he owes Southend a debt (which he does) and would probably play for free. We could take him on a rolling 1 week contract or something similar and get rid if there was the slightest of wrong moves.

Think you're over-estimating how good he is. Only scored more than 2 goals in a league season twice.

If he's close to match fit I'd give Ranger a deal until Jan - give him a few weeks and games to see. If it doesn't work - he's out and we see what we can pick up in Jan. If he's ok, and we can't sign anyone better in Jan he stays

I don't care who comes in.If MM considers they can do a job to get us up the table so be it,whether its Ranger or Mohsi its has to be the managers decision
I just don't see MM as the right type of manager to cope or be strict enough with ranger. (I'm not sure there is one!). There would only be one outcome causing division reliability and trust issues and it's one that will be more damaging than any possible benefit.

Pretty much my point of view. ??
We can’t afford M&S or even ASDA so we’ve got to go Poundland.

Absolutely, same goes for Mohsni, there looked to be a really good team spirit yesterday, both when we scored and at the end so I can't imagine MM wanting to lose that.

Exactly ! you add players like Ranger and Mohsni to the changing room, and the spirit will be lost within minutes.
