The Zone a Year on....

Many things have changed this past season, SBH replaced Spiff on the board for one and is adding to the changes to the board day by day ....WE as the owners would like to think we have taken the Zone forward this past twelve months....We have new plans in store for next season to add even more enhancements to the Zone .They have been some wonderful debates in the main Forum and this is what makes the Zone a so passionate a place to be. In no particular order all these below have made a major contribution.

Smiffy's creation of The Blue Voice.
Kent Shrimpers Utube on SUFC.
Slippers daily SlipperDuke Column.
Mr Benedicts Prediction League.
Many weekly music threads by the likes of SUFC Al. Mk Shrimper, Pubey,Napster and Bentley's Absurd gate.
The Shrimper Zone Beer club has continued to be a fantastic night.
The New Weekly Sunday night Pub Quiz in the Chat room.
The Special days we have at the Spread with Raffles etc.
The Fantastic achievements of our Own ShrimperZone football teams...especially as the First team came second in there League and won the Cup this year.
Our own Zone merchandise is being brought on a regular basis.
You have all donated to any cause that was in need of help.

There are so many more things that have contributed to the Zone this year ..even Dts's Cookery weekly thread..I have no doubt forgotten many but with the season drawing to a close on behalf of all the Owners thanks to you all who make the Zone THE SUFC NO 1 fans site...

Regards ..Ken, Matt, Graeme, James and John.

Roll on the play-offs and hopefully see you at the end of season party at the Spread this Saturday .

UTB and UTZ.

And yet you still claim to be 29 years old, John - how does that work?!

:p

While I don't want to be accused of being overly backslapping, I know for my part that a lot of the credit for all of the above should go to the two Southend directors - Ken & John. Bravo chaps.

Matt

been great to get involved this year SZFC, I got involved through SZ.com having had ayear out from playing and contacted stats...the rest is history as they say, a promotion and cup win while representing SZ not too shabby

Its a good job that Beaver and Bob Cratchett dont snub me of my thread would have died a death already.:(

To be fair, Dave, I do read them, then think how I can improve them. Unfortunately my recipes are mainly pasta or curries, and are either complicated/long or I need to go to a book to remember some ingredients.

You've got a lot of front coming on here, having been to only four games in the last two years.

Naps now that really is a back handed compliment. Surely the point is you try something first before you try to improve them.

The point of Dave's cooking is not to be a fecking gourmet but how to cook something really tasty in a simple and quick way. Now that has to be congratulated as if it helps to get people to cook something rather than dial the takeaway or whack something in the Microwave ( I am still waiting for the time when we pour scorn on those fools who used Microwaves, like we did when the relevations came out about CFC aerosols).

I would like to congratulate the owners for putting in the work usually on thankless basis on keeping the site open. From a selfish point of view it does help when we need to recruit for players to have such an active media to be able to advertise on, also allows us to be able to target the type of players we are looking for, fans of Southend Utd ;)

Finally it is good to see the Southend based SZ.com Owners actually come over and support the SZFC teams during the season. It is appreciated guys.

I echo the second part. I know personally from experience the lack of thanks you get, and how much cash it costs. So cheers to John, Ken et al.

ps re the first part, fair point.

Thanks for all the nice comments -- it is greatly appreciated. For those of us who have been involved for years, many friendships have been made and it's been good to get to know a decent bunch of people as the SUFC fans on here.
