Theo Robinson

COLCHESTER United are hoping that Blues striker Theo Robinson can feature for them in the proposed League Two play-offs.

If the club has any sense we would tell them no chance.
Doing that would be a pretty good way of making sure Colchester never do business with us again, which wouldn't be in our interests. Plus if they extend the loan for the play offs that's a salary we don't have to pay.

I think Ron and Robbie get on pretty well, there is no real rivalry at chairman level. Any deals done between the two clubs is often sorted out pretty quickly.
Market Trader style haggling and spit on the hands and shake you mean? Although now, there would be no spitting, just a ginger touch of the forearms probably.

Not only that. But if you have any regard for your employees [players] you wouldn't deny someone who is out of contracting the chance to put himself in the shop window knowing you're probably[?] not going to offer him a new deal.

so he's obviously gonna score the winner in the playoff final before tearing up L1 next season whilst we sit in L2 regretting not giving him more of a chance

Even if we got promoted, which I think is probably unlikely, we can't afford to offer him a contract, but it won't do him amy harm if he plays well to get a contract elsewhere.

It wouldn't surprise me, Theo is a limited striker but if you feed to his strength (making runs off the ball) I can see him being effective in this league
