Time to stop charity fat cats.

If just one person reads this thread and decides not to give their money to the big firms, then great !

Charity is a vocation,I do stuff for free...Xmas eve I spent 5 hours of my time helping to prep veg for 30 pensioners and every 4th week it's my turn to take them shopping(not all 30 though)...no big deal.

Good for you. I don't beleive a word of it but still, good for you.

I'm done.

Only you know the answer to that. But I'm guessing the answer is yes.

(It's the sort of thing I used to do for the homeless when I was a full time volunteer for The Cyrenians, back in the day).

The interesting element was buying the stuff in Asda, the looks we had at the checkout was quite funny as the trolley was full of spuds, carrots, cabbage and sprouts.

The prep was fun as 3 other girls helped me with the aid of 2 bottles of Cava.

Would rather do the above than give a tenner to some money grabbing charity.

According to media reports,

David Miliband has issued a stark warning that his charity doesn't get enough money whilst pocketing £530,000 salary from the gig.

Stephen Kinnock's wife who is head of save the children only recieves a mere £250,000 salary,of course his mum and dad also trousered vast amounts from the EU

Hmmm two lefties getting nearly £800,000 between them for doing very little.

I want to become a socialist so I can earn vast amounts whilst pretending to care about the downtrodden :winking:

I don't think they combine their salaries - that would be problematic as they don't even live in the same country.
You say they are being paid a lot for doing very little - what exactly do each of their roles entail?

(btw you presumably are aware that Kinnock's parents 'trousering' money from the EU is not massively relevant here and is something that Nigel Farage and his wife has done but in the case of UKIP a chunk is being claimed back by the EU for being claimed incorrectly)

It's utterly ridiculous,

Some charities demand donations whilst paying out crazy salaries to the bigwigs and others,it must stop!

Save the children pay 6 million per year on just one of their leased premises...6 bloody million, how many people have chucked a couple of quid into buckets thinking they are helping kids, when their cash is being used to pay rent.

Bosses regularly make 100k plus..why?

Miliband trousers 400k for his charity gig...8 grand per week to front the charity..the world is nuts.

Personally I don't give money for the reasons above.
Milliband has had a pay rise since your opening post it seems (or figures are all guesses)

I would imagine their roles mean they have to endure first class travel and hotels with plenty of functions thrown in for good measure and doing very little elsewhere.

Farage wanted Brexit which finished his own gig,the Kinnock's however clung on forever, who can blame them though, after all it's thirsty work being a caring socialist.

you have been posting a lot on this subject and about David Milliband in particular so I assumed you had some kind of knowledge that you were sharing - but though you say he is paid a lot (£400k a day or so ago and now £530k today) for doing little it has become clear that you have no idea what his role actually is.

Sorry but that's not the way it works.

shouldn't be necessary - if someone posts information on a subject that they are passionate about we should be able to discuss it without having to truth check everything

Always useful to check though. One of my brother in law's ( young adult) kids was saying on Xmas day that Clinton had won the popular vote by over 3 million.I said I didn't think it was as much as that, though I knew it was over 2 million.A quick web search revealed the figure as 2.9 million.
