Tom Hopper is to play in a behind closed doors friendly against Maidstone this afternoon. He's been out a whole year. Obviously will be well rusty and may take a few second string games to be ready for the first team. What do you think?

fantastic news but lets not rush him. As you say ease him in with some second string games and then sub appearances, but this can only be good for the team

I think I’m shocked that they are risking someone who’s had ACL surgery in a game that’s played on 4G astro.....

Great news for Tom, he's a great bloke and has hated being sat on the sidelines for so long. Wrap him in cotton wool today though!

Woohoo! If he can reach the same level of performance and success he did before the injury this will be like a new signing for us. Which, given the current state of the squad, is exactly what we need.

Gee........ take care Tom. Let's hope Maidstone don't have any wannabe Chopper Harris.

Ahem... ‘will make no difference if there’s no service to the forwards’...

It will make a bit of a difference. He's the only one of our strikers willing to chase lost causes into the channels. We play a lot of those balls out of the back. Stephen Humphrys isn't interested in running after them and it's not Cox's game either. Hopper, assuming he is the same player as before which is by no means guaranteed, should at least increase the amount of time the ball is in the opposition half and give us a fighting chance of moving up the pitch.

I think we will see him on the bench for 1st eleven in November hopefull.

Sounds like the byline of a bad action film that'll end up on Channel 5 on a Sunday evening.

Tom Hopper is.......The Onions Man....

Great news - Hopps is tops in my book. Can't wait till he pops one in the back of the net :)
