Despite the fact that Ron gets abused on this site on a regular basis, Tranmere Rovers proofs just how hard it is to make a club of this size pay for itself and flourish.
Lets look at Southend and Tranmere.
Both have spent the majority of their life's kicking around the bottom 2 levels of the English leagues.
They both have a similar fan base and both have flirted at a higher level only to crash back down to earth.
Tranmere will be Non league next year and we only need one more win to be promoted.
Most Tranmere fans put the fault at the bad management of the club and the massive debts that where amassed.
Ron has ambitions of doing a Bournemouth and takes inspiration from them. So good luck Ron and thank you.

I think Ron's ambition is Fossetts Farm finished and then gallop off into the sunset. Either way it will be a while before ambition is realised I think.

Love Ron or hate him .He has never let the club go into administration . So at least he is trying .Lets look at Bournemouth .A few years ago they where almost dead the fans had to dip into there pockets to save the club . Has any of us had to do this NO .Yes we have been propped up by sainsburys . But the club is still going and hopefully going to get promoted this sat .

Then a Russian dipped into his pocket and all ended well.

He certainly didn't let us go into administration, but at what cost?
If we are £Xm in debt how will that ever be paid off, other than a sugar daddy appearing?
My concern is that these debts will inevitably re-appear and at that point there will be no saving us.

Personally think it could be a hell of a lot worse, if we get promotion this season then we return to what I feel is our natural level....a league one sized club.

The past 18 months or so Brown has been backed by the Chairman and the players do not seem to go without, they had another pre season abroad, they stay in hotels ahead of some matches and the pitch and training facilities are more than adequate for this level.

Yes he does speak an awful lot of s**t at times but maybe it's a case of better the devil you know, were chasing promotion for the fourth successive season so all is not that bad - were not facing extinction or relagtion to non league year after year.

Going into administration isn't a magic wand that clears debt. The reality is that the club will hire someone to negotiate a settlement with creditors to pay off a percentage of outstanding monies. Our main creditors are Ron's companies.

Luck or judgement and good planning. We'll never know. Just wish he was more transparent and had more of a history as a fan and was in it for the football not just potential financial gain from the property side.

So this week if we get promoted Ron will be forgiven and be a hero, if we make the play offs things stay the same, if we go up and get relegated the next season Ron will get it all again eh, does make me laugh:'(

Nah not really. Ron could broker a deal for world peace & I'd still think he was a ****

We will never go into administration as ron and Co are our major creditors....thus meaning they would lose shed loads. Fosset farm is the end game...seemingly at any cost

He better start financing us the same that Bournemouth have been financed by wealthy Russian backers then!

Hmmm,

Ron waltzed into RH with the club having debts of around 3 million roughly, this debt has grown well past TEN million,he arrived when we were in league 2 and we are in league 2 currently. The stadium hasn't changed apart from the electronic turnstiles and the South upper tea bar has been closed.

Yeah your right well done Ron.

Does he? How do you know this? Is his new partner in the FF project a Russian billionaire?

I smell something fishy ...

This actually shows the remarkable job Sturrock did in his first season. We could quite easily have slipped through league 2.

I don't remember the part where the Bournemouth chairman broke up a good league 1 side, stopped paying the players resulting in them being relegated.
