We drove past Sea World and travellers had parked up outside in the parking bays there. Must of been about 7/8 caravans and Old Bill were in the process of paying a visit as we passed. Look out for cheap tropical fish and baby meerkats for sale in local boot fairs this weekend.

I also noticed that on the left hand area outside of Adventure World, just before Pier Hill that large concrete blocks have been added to the pavement to stop the Saturday night cruisers parking up there.

Cherry Orchard Park. RDC have recently resurfaced the car park!
IIRC the order that RDC got for moving on the last lot is valid for 3 months and applies to any illegal occupation, doesn't have to be the same "travelers", so they ought not to rockup there for long.

It's the same story every Summer. They arrive, they get handed the silly notice that gives them a week to scam the old people of Thorpe Bay. Then they pop up locally for another week. Then at Christmas, they disappear to their traveller sites where they live, a lot of their Roofing, Guttering, Driveway, Rubbish clearance or Garden work flyers give a Basildon code number and a mobile, or they go back to their houses in Ireland, mostly Rathkeale. All this travelling about is not because they have nowhere to go. It's for the men's work scams in the good weather months. A lot of them are now into expensive cars or caravans, normally top range 4x4 cars. Where do you think they are getting the money for a 30 grand car? Certainly not from legit work.
