Yesterday, 24th February 2023 marked the 1 year anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine conflict which has had horrendous consequences for the lives of millions of Ukrainians.
Whilst Southend United fans have plenty to think about at the moment, the lives of those impacted in Ukraine puts some of our problems into perspective.
Last year The Shrimpers Trust launched a unique scarf to help Ukrainian refugees, each scarf purchased funded the costs for one Ukrainian victim of the war fleeing to safety.
We are delighted to announce we have a small number of scarves left available at £20 each. The remaining scarves have been individually signed by the three Amigos, Kevin Maher, Darren Currie and Mark Bentley and with some surprise additions on some others!
The scarves can be purchased from the Trust shop here or from the Trust Information Stand in the Shrimpers Bar prior to any home game.
If you would like to find out more about how this initiative has helped those in need, the manufacturer World Retro is based in Poland (not far from the Ukrainian border) and has shared some heartbreaking videos (available here) to show how the funds have been put to use.
