Nope, don't like them at all. And I can't think of a single pop/rock act that is universally liked, I think you maybe need to be looking for someone like The Jam for instance, or Madness...Duran Duran? Light pop.

No, we've covered Whitney Houston here elsewhere and she's definitely not. I know of a few who (sadly) don't like Phil Collins either. Huey Lewis & the News not quite in the same category.

The Jam fall flat on their arse outside of the UK, Madness, ditto, Duran Duran?? No chance.
 
There is, and never will be, a bigger or more influential band than The Beatles. You can argue all you like, but most musicians would say the same.

That may well be true but it doesn't make them universally respected.
