Many large companies are comprised of hundreds or thousands of legal entities.

Exactly this. The government want to meet their housing quota but can’t be seen to be dealing with companies and people involved in lawsuits.

That might have been the women’s retirement age - either way he’s past the retirement age (which was lower for him as a boomer).

I suspect there will be ridiculously lengthy and intricately technical argument as to whether the tax in question was actually due or not, this could take years and years to resolve, I can't imagine public bodies pre-judging the outcome of such a case.

Ron is doing exactly what many business people do - separate companies for separate business interests.

He could run them all under one company but if one part got into trouble it could take the rest down.

In any case Ronco is already registered as a company name.
