It wouldn't happen in Germany? A bit of a pointless and strange sentence to make.

I imagine the Bundesliga isn't as attractive as the Prem with the amount of money being thrown at it.

The way things are going this summer the premiership is slipping down the list of preferred destinations of players, tax rates are better in France and PSG & Monaco are throwing around far more money the the EPL. Germany also has lower tax rates and let's face it is gaining a better rep for producing young players, and getting success (2 teams in the CL final). So I'm sure teams in Germany and more in France will be attracting rich owners soon.

But across the world, the Prem is the main draw - all you have to do in wander around any third world country and you'll see any number of Premiership shirts. Bar Barcelona, I don't think you can say that about any other league.

Tax rates are a bit of a red herring really. When players negotiate across borders they tend to work net of the local tax rate, i.e. what would they earn after tax. From a player's perspective the tax rate is irrelevant. From a club perspective it isn't. If the club can afford the wages then the tax rate takes care of itself.
