To be fair to Barry, not only did he purchase a few balloons, but when I emailed him to ask if we could publicise his doing that he rang me straight away to say 'of course' and was in typical jovial mood.

Is your balloon called “the longest in the world” (had to be careful how I phrased that!)

If this is the balloon, It looks like that email had an incorrect character. DM us the correct address and I will update the database. If this is the one, it did indeed go through.

Flicking thro the current 331 entries to date some of the names are quite inventive! 'Dunk's Gas' seems to be the one to avoid. 'Up and away games' seems appropriate for today, but Barry Fry's balloon is looking like the one to beat. The SUEPA balloon is looking a bit heavy with it's 404 carriers but was boosted by Eddie Firmani joining the throng yesterday.

Still got a couple of days to get your entry in, appropriately christened and warmed up for the off on 30 Aug ..........
