Help needed from the more technically minded of zone folk. I appear to have a problem with my laptop, with my works remote access scanner picking up some random trojan??

Anyone any ideas how I get rid?? It's slowed my laptop down a lot! I have McAfee installed but it seems to be stalling when I try to run a full system scan.

Over to those of you who know what you are talking about!

try and get another anti-virus onto your comp. I'd recommend AVG.

yep Avast is good too. A guy managed to infect lots of PCs at work (from a USB stick) and we have McAfee which wasn't able to clear it off. The IT guys got us to uninstall McAfee and we were given Windows Security Essentials, which did the trick. Seems like McAfee isn't much cop really. Good luck!

Yeah, McAfee isn't much cop at all, which certainly doesn't bode well seeing as Intel acquired them last month...

Download Combofix onto a datastick, reboot your PC, run in safe mode with networking. Plug in the data stick and run combofix, just follow the instuctions, its a powerful tool for removing viruses. Then install Malwarebytes, a great anti-virus tool.
