On 30 April 2017 we needed to beat Bury and hope that Millwall didn't win at Bristol Rovers so we could get a play-off place.

Thanks to a goal by Stephen McLaughlin we did our part by winning 1-0, but Millwall won 4-3 v The Gas thanks to an 85th minute winner to spoil our day

I recall the game as it was this one that I got Derek Spence and Keith Mercer back to Roots (in pre SUEPA days) and they got a huge reception from the 9,000 plus crowd at Roots that day - Derek recalled it again only last weekend saying that both Keith and him cried as they came off the pitch overcome by the emotion of it all.

I'm pretty sure that Millwall were a goal down with about 10 to go and scored twice. I was in lakeside that day and kept checking my phone. Was fuming that Bristol rovers just folded like a pack of cards.
