As we go for our tenth straight League win against Hereford, the man in charge is newly promoted Carl Berry from Cheam in Surrey. It is not, however, his first League match as he had a couple of "trial" matches last season; both were home wins.

His last appearance at Roots Hall was running one of the lines against Cheltenham back in January. His fellow lino that day was Lee Betts from Great Yarmouth who returns with him as one of the Assistants tomorrow. The other Assistant is also from that neck of the woods - Adrian Sannerude from Lowestoft. Finally the 4th official is regular visitor Ashley Slaughter from Brighton.

Is the football league promoting the idear of having refs and assistance from as fewer miles as possable to save on travel and money they have to shell out :winking:

Thanks Mick - now that Ref Watch is back, we know that the season is close!

Wouldn't be surprised. It's possibly also partly to do with not having refs driving too far to games on the day, so they're not too tired before stepping onto the pitch.

FWIW thought the ref did OK on Saturday, but was let down by his Assistant in front of the west who somehow missed Stam's kick at Moshni, despite looking right at it.

You are absolutely spot on Billericay Blue, I think they call that selective vision, on the basis of having to make a contentious decision, or in other words................................. the bottled it !!!
