Ok, my side for Friday

GK @tallboyblue (For his height obviously)

RB @GBJ (Needs a right facing player here)
CB @rigsby (No nonsense tackler who hangs on tenaciously)
CB @Grapevine (can play the ball out from the back tactically)
LB @Another Surrey Shrimper (Definite left facing player, gives us balance)

RM @Benfleet A1 (links up well with GBJ, subtle moves when needed and knows how to park the bus)
CM @Napster (knows how to be single minded going forward)
CM @South Bank Hank (Knows how to block posters players out)
LM @Tangled up in Blue (An out and out leftie)

CF @Cricko (got to be for his experience and cool head)
CF @OldBlueLady (tricky one this but felt we needed a softer touch, and in homage to equality)

Subs - So many its impossible to choose

Ref - Mick Who else?

I know some of these will be controversal but we're in big trouble here, its Easter (what's that got to do with it) and we need the points.

Jesus, things must be bad if I've made the first team.

What we need is:

A tricky winger
A speedy winger
A bustling centre forward
A midfield dynamo
A dominant centre half
A tough tackling fullback
A dogged defender
A midfield general
A ball playing inside forward with an eye for goal
A safe pair of hands

to name a few...………..

How a bout a manger and assistant?

I would say yorkshireblue but he would immediately drop most of the team for being to old.
Whoever you gave it to, you wouldn't be allowed to judge them as it wouldn't be their side

Ha! I'm afraid my ocasional appearances in LM (I used to play regularly at LB) are now long in the past.Unfortunately. Still made me smile.:Smile2:

PS.RobNoxious was always the most creative player in the family. We could certainly use some of that creativity now.At least he'll be watching us live on Friday.

I think you'll find that's called Manchester City ..................

A few changes for me, Oxley is our number 1 and I think he has to come back in, now he's had the chance to get fitter and more mobile.

I believe Lennon and Kiernan will be our first choice CBs so let's get them playing together, with Taylor Moore who has some creative nous and the ability to tackle in that defensive CM role if Luke Hyam isn't fit.

McLaughlin is hands down our best winger and Dru has more of a spark than Dieng.

Oxley
Elvis, Kiernan, Lennon, Hart
Moore
Mantom, Yearwood, McLaughlin
Cox, Humphrys

Subs: Bishop, White, Dieng, Bunn, Kelman, Hutchinson, Klass

What !?! I can’t believe this,OBL! You’ve selected a team without including John White ! We all know he never has been and never will be much of a centre-back, but surely he’s worth a place cos he’s such a nice chap?
Actually,I fully agree with your line-up,assuming very important players Demi and Hyam aren’t fit.If they are, McL and Elvis on bench.

And a Middle/Far-Eastern Billionaire owner

I think you'll find that's called Manchester City ..................

It used to be called Southend United not so long ago.

A tricky winger Mark Gower
A speedy winger Mitchell Cole
A bustling centre forward Shaun Goater
A midfield dynamo Mark Bentley/Luke Guttridge
A dominant centre half Spencer Prior/Efe Sodje
A tough tackling fullback Duncan Jupp
A dogged defender Adam Barrett
A midfield general Kevin Maher
A ball playing inside forward with an eye for goal Freddy Eastwood
A safe pair of hands Daryl Flahavan

and then there were Che Wilson and Wayne Gray

and Akinfenwa scored against them!

A nice balanced team - oh we could do with some of them on Friday.

Noooo, Lennon was the Messiah and one of Powells best signings whilst he was injured. Then he turned out to be a bit pony like the rest of them.

Or both could be decent but they are woefully short of both match time and fitness.

Blooming mods, bringing up politics again.

I have all of these in my Panini sticker album ! We would get all these and still have Kightly to ruin it all

No, YOU may know that, but many of us disagree! I just think that, if Lennon and Kiernan are going to be our first choice pairing next season - assuming neither of them are transfer listed - then they need to be playing together now.

Demi was seeing a specialist this afternoon which may indicate the situation regarding his injury. I think it was said last week Luke was out for a couple of weeks.
