Hi there folks,

i'm currently on the hunt for some good websites to see what famous people were born on my Son's date of birth (5th September 2006).

Also what events happened etc, and what happened on the day he was born etc. I know The Arctic Monkeys won the mercury music prize the day he was born.

I'm afraid the day he was born it was just a blur, everything happened so quick, and the events which followed his birth.

Now the dust has settled, i'd like to get this information.

Any help will be superb!

Thank-you!

You could always contact some of the newspapers both national & local ones for back-issues for 05/09/06. That's what I did last year my little girl was born! I intend to give her all the various media I've collected (Southend v Tranmere programme included, cheers TerryintheWest) on probably her 13th birthday!

My birthday of August 27th produces a decent midfield of:

Sully Muntari      Dietmar Hamann         Peter Butler         Deco

A fairly decent tennis match between John Lloyd and Carlos Moya

An F1 match-up between Derek Warwick, Mark Webber and Gerhard Berger

Add to that Sir Donald Bradman, and what a sporting day that is to be born. Don't know what went wrong in my case.

My son shares his birthday with none other than Blues Target George O'Callaghan! And Freddy Mercury.

George O'Callaghan is a professional footballer. He is an attacking midfielder who can also play as a striker. He currently plays for Cork City FC.

O'Callaghan was born on September 5, 1979 in Cork, Ireland. He played schoolboys football with Rockmount, before moving to rival team Leeds AFC. He also played hurling with Glen Rovers and his school, The North Monastery's, team.

George went on trial with Port Vale at the age of 16 and was signed up almost immediately. After two year's, the Corkman was offered a professional contract. George was a regular in the side in the 1998/1999 season, up until John Rudge was sacked. Brian Horton took over as manager and George was put back into the youth squad. 13 months later, he made a return to the senior squad, scoring in a draw with Crewe Alexandra. He stayed in the side for the rest of the season and signed a new two year deal with the club despite an offer from Tottenham Hotspur. Port Vale were relagated to League 1 that year. George was top scorer 7 games into the 2000/2001 season but was suddenly dropped after a 3-0 loss to Cardiff City. It would be his last game for Port Vale.

He returned home to Cork in 2002 after his contract ended at Port Vale. Shortly after, he signed for his hometown club Cork City FC. He made his debut in the opening game of the 2002/2003 season against Shelbourne in 3-0 home win (which he scored in). Together with new signing John O'Flynn, they formed a formidable striking partnership.

Following the arrival of Neale Fenn in 2004, George was moved to midfield by then manager Pat Dolan, to accommodate the new player. Despite playing in less preferred position, he adpated well and put in some excellent performances in the League and Europe that year.

In 2005, Cork City picked up their first League title in 12 years and George finally picked up his much sought after winners medal. He scored an impressive 11 goals in all competitions.

Unhappy with a fine imposed on him by Cork City team manager Damien Richardson, O'Callaghan was placed on the transfer list at his own request in July 2006, and has been linked with a possible move to Ipswich Town
