Despite all our optimism and a relatively comfy ride for the team - the atmosphere was tense. Even when in the promtion position with 15 minutes to play, it was relatively subdued and nervous. That is how it is when, no matter what our team does, we were all waiting for bad news from Lancashire. And it came.

Crewe Alexandra ...before Torquay United or Cheltenham Town at Wembley.
Now it is back in our own hands and so we can really get behind the lads without fear of bad news, that is completely out of our control, from another part of the country!!
C'MON YOU SHRIMPERS!!!

I think the fact that we were so comfortable/poor meant that the atmosphere wasn't what it could be, also I got the feeling that everyone knew it was just a matter of time until crawley scored so nobody wanted to get ahead of themselves. To be fair as soon as we got to the 65 minute mark the difference in noise was so noticeable i knew crawley had scored without bothering to check.

So strange, I actually felt depressed all game even when we were in the top 3! Such a weird experience yesterday - didn't realise it would be so horrible relying on results elsewhere.

At least the playoffs are in OUR hands.....
