Joking aside, this is massive news and a huge credit must go to the WHO and others. A couple of years ago, 9 polio vaccinators were shot dead in Nigeria - so this outcome is brilliant, given Nigeria is a difficult place to operate.

[barna]I did a study visit to the WHO in Geneva to learn about their polio vaccination programme. They are brilliant and hard-working people. This is a significant milestone towards eradicating this terrible disease[/barna]

It was actually Rotary International, whose local club chairman happened to be one of our Trust committee members. Just a little point for the sake of accuracy. Still have my shirt.
