What a night for Great Britain. First, Kelly Holmes gets the double gold she wanted with a brilliant run in the 1500m. Then, to my surprise I must admit, the 4x100 relay team win gold with superb runs by all 4 men, especially Lewis-Francis at the end. Absoloutely brilliant, makes you feel very proud. Kelly Holmes deserves a knighthood!(or whatever the female equivalent is) Also, a special mention to Steve Backley, who completed his final olympics last night after a great career, coming 4th in the javelin.

We're now 9th in the medals table, and we've got our highest medals total ever, with a definite medal from Amir Khan to come tomorrow. Bravo!

To me it looked like (when we were shown it live) Lewis-Francis eased up at the end of the race allowing Greene to come back into contention.

I was ready to give him serious abuse through the screen if they came second!
