What are you having for lunch? (rolling thread)

I love a yellow label deal but wouldn't touch reduced seafood or non smoked fish.

You are playing Russian Roulette
Lost count over last few years, when getting a bargain seafood ( prawns, salmon, trout, smoked cod & haddock etc ) of which the date is 'eat by today' which i do, or freeze it if
possible. So far i've never suffered afterwards.
When i used to fish off the North Sea at Whitby, i got to know a few trawler skippers & crewmen. They told me, that as long as their catch is regularly sprayed with salt water when in the 'hold', they can be out at sea for up to 16 days, & upon return the fish catch is still classed as fresh!.
