And following up the gorilla, time for a reminisce with Kid Creole and the Coconuts. A happy song in my book.

Thanks for this blast from the past. I loved this album and In Pursuit of the 13th Note ..

Love Galliano - I have a playlist which is Galliano/Corduroy/Incognito/BNH and early Jamiroquai.

Corduroy recently reunited and have a new album out, and another one out late this year. I saw them in December - and am friends with all the band now! we had a Zoom call last week where we got to chat about their music/careers etc.

Amazing! We must be of a similar age. Exactly the kind of stuff I was into along with a bit of hip hop, drum n bass and a dash of guitar music. Was a regular gig/festival goer at the time. The good old days, eh? I’ll check out the latest Corduroy stuff.

Not heard this for absolutely yonks, tune popped into my head, checked it out on YT and here it is:

In my total ignorance - or I just plain forgot as it's been so long - Redbone were a Native American outfit. Brought back a lot of good memories anyway......

Phil Burdett told me this story about when he was supporting JM at The Half Moon in Putney. JM went to the bar - I wonder how many JM stories have started off like that - and ordered a pint whilst he studied the whisky options. He got stuck in and a bit later the security guys were trying to muscle him out until PB advised them not to as he was their headline act. He still performed pretty well too apparently.

This track was number 1 in 1992. Terrific actor and equally talented singer. I'm having a Nail fest this weekend.
