What class are you?

Apparently over 60% of us describe ourselves as working class, (whatever that means these days).So what class are you?

My parents were undoubtedly working class but I suppose, as a teacher, I qualify for the middle class.

I think a lot of people who would be deemed 'middle class', think of themselves as 'working class', as they have probably worked bloody hard to get there? To that sense, most of them are 'working middle class'.

People don't like to call themselves 'middle class', as it makes people assume that you only got where you did because you were born into it, and didn't have to work particually hard to achieve what you had, as if you had said you were 'working class'. In reality, most 'middle class' people work just as hard as 'working class' people, i guess at the end of the day, disposable income is the only real difference?

Yeah, I thought that too, but I think it's slightly different. Anyway, "established middle-class".

Class is only important if you want to work for an organization like the BBC or Guardian.

Most other employers are meritocratic.
