I'm in RDC with wheelie bins so see no excuse to not chop them up and put in the green one.
Which is what the RDC ask you to do according to their web site, or dump the complete tree at the Rayleigh tip, so you being hacked off is totally understandable. :Winking:

This morning I was out walking the woof near the airport, Avro Road, and the road was quiet and fairly empty; it is permit parking only during the day to save residents from having roads used as free parking for the airport.
Anyway, the airport is almost mothballed for passengers, and parking isn't a problem at present SO why was a parking warden checking all the cars (few that there are) on the roads? We saw he hadn't caught any.
A waste of time, a pointless task and very negative.
Surely there is a better and more useful way for the guy's work to be used?

You would think so wouldn't you? But round my way we now get a regular on her little three wheel scooter who is issuing penalties for anyone parked in the road that has their kerbside wheels up on the curb. It's been a regular event and more than a few don't learn their lesson and do it again and get a penalty again. I'm guessing it's quite lucrative for her to do repeat visits.

Probably reach her monthly target by next week!.

There are many roads including mine that are impossible to park either side without one or both sides parking up the kerb. There's a lot of elderly and some care homes in my area. So many ambulances up and down every day. In the past I have had many paramedics and even a fireman knock on my door to ask if my car is the one that is blocking them, it's not me, because I park up the kerb. They tell our residents to park up the kerb, as our road is too narrow. In a life or death situation, paramedics haven't got time to knock on all the doors for a car to be moved. I'm dreading the time when I go out to a ticket. Some roads people shouldn't park up the kerb, but some areas and roads you can't please everybody.

I have an interview on Zoom today.

In my line of business they ask you to write code in front of them which is rather stressful.

I know they want to check I know my stuff but there are better ways.

I live next door to the Bathworld Store in Leigh, hardly classed as a 'essential shopping' store to be open?.
You'd be amazed on a daily basis, how many customers go to the entrance, & look bemused because it's shut!. The place is in darkness, yet many of these people still peer through the window looking for life!!.

Restrictions have no meaning for the high flying birds of Leigh.

Remember these people probably have a new bathroom a couple of times a year.

Heard yesterday that a good friend and ex-colleague (the same age as me) had just died of cancer (not covid related, apparently). We're in France atm so probably won't be able to make it back for the funeral.Life can be a bummer at times.
Sad stuff mate.
Funerals are hard at the moment and, although difficult, a remotely screened way is common practice and has merit.
I believe there are also longer than average delays before the service can take place at either places of worship or crematorium.

Cheers for this Jim. Don't believe they're up to screens in Spain just yet.Numbers are stricly limited though (6-10).However, as I said, we probably won't be back in time anyway.

Funnily enough, (or perhaps not), another mate (the Spanish husband of an ex-colleague of my wife's)died last month of leukemia. He was at my 65th party too.Memento mori and all that, ?

COPD. My sister rang me with 5 minutes to go of the game I told her whatever it was I'd ring her back, ok she said cheerily. I rang and she told me that my brother in law, who has been suffering from COPD for several years, has reached the point where his medicines don't have any further effect and the prognosis is months. Life absolutely ****ing sucks at this particular time.

In Morrison's at Hadleigh around mid-day ( hardly anyone in there! ), when woman in her 20's walks in wearing a mask & her black boyfriend hasn't got one on.
You could tell by his strutting gait that he was itching for a row, & didn't disappoint.
Security wouldn't let him enter after he said he wasn't exempt, & started kicking off with the old racist card, that being the reason he wasn't allowed in was because he was black FFS!.
3 of them escorted him to the door ( his girlfriend left with him ), whilst he was ranting & raving all the time.
What is wrong with these people??.

I think some people just like the thrill of confrontation.
