Just found this in my Potters Bar Town programme. What is it?

the love of a woman was my only crime
what a fool I must have been
I met her on Southend pier
when she took a ride with me

the road was long to a place she knew
where the good times never end
and love began on a bumpey ride
with a kiss on every bend

Oh, the wheels go round
as you lay your money down
theres a fortune to be found
and love is all around you at southend on sea, on sea
shew was by my side
till my luckm began to slide
so we took another ride out to southend on sea........
