Echo News What keeps Southend United ticking in the toughest of times

Agree with EforB above.

This lot may not be the most talented bunch we have ever seen in a blue shirt. But they more than make up for it in pride, passion and a genuine love for the club, management and fans. We haven't had this level of player > fan connection since the Tilly days. Perhaps ever.

I genuinely feel every single one of them would run through a brick wall for our club and that is all we can ask for. The loyalty they have shown in the face of the most awful adversity, will never ever be forgotten. Genuine heroes, every single one of them.

I'll second that !

I do wonder how the takeover will change the dynamic in the changing room. Will removing the off-field struggles and adding a few new players in weaken the siege mentality that the current squad seem to be thriving on?

I'm not for a second suggesting we'd be better off without the takeover; it'll just be interesting to see what happens to the squad mentality when their backs aren't against the wall in the same way.

I’m sure the 3 amigos know the type of players they’re looking for and wouldn’t let any new faces upset the players togetherness at the club 👍😄

I wouldn't worry about that. I don't think they would have wanted to go through all that, just to throw it away
