There are actually very few true grass pitches in the NFL, there are Indoor artificial pitches (ala Indianappolis colts etc) then there are field turf pitches which are a mixture of grass and artificial surface (Seattle Seahawks etc) and then there are the true grass pitches which are kept very much like the grass on a racecourse which is very hard wearing and the grass has deep roots which means it can recover more easily but is more prone to waterlogging. One of the reasons that their grass pitches good all the time is that they actually spray the muddy patches green to look good on television.

I have heard from a very good contact who does work for FA that if we did not qualify mclaren the **** would not be allowed on the plane due to the embarressment of a manager who could not qualify for the euros be allowed there for the world cup draw and would be sacked before friday.

People having been saying for ages that Lampard and Gerrard together dont work and Lampard should be dropped. Well maybe its time for Gerrard to sit out a few games and see if Lampard can reproduce his chelsea form for England

Hopefully they won't knee jerk and appoint another overpaid foreigner, perhaps looking at a few root causes. We were not good enough throughout qualification. I can't comment too much on last night because going for a swim became strangely attractive at 830. Stop kowtowing to clubs "needs", stop offering financial incentives to players to wear the shirt, stop throwing all the money at the top. That is NOT where it is needed. Not one international class player in the team proven by the fact that none of them are being chased by Europe's top teams
