When is Hoops Back?

When does his loan period end,I think he is coming home after this weekend.Think we should unleash him against Cheltenham.

Feed the Hoop and he will score.

Yep. 4th, even possibly 5th in the grand scheme of things. I'd imagine he'll stay at Hereford until the end of the season.

With Barnard/Revell/Walker now in the squad he'll be lucky to get a game.

Well Revell is out for a month but even so the fact Hooper went on loan and Mcdonald didnt would put him behind Barnard, Walker and him.

As well as Hooper is doing I personally want to see Barnard and Walker now and I dont see the point in bringing him back to be a sub.

BBC says that Hereford's manager is keen to keep Hoops and the other forward they've got on loan to the end of the season. Apparently Hoops is happy with the idea but they've not spoken to Southend yet.

Very few out on loan ever make it back

Think maybe Div 2 is his natural ability level & in the comfort zone - whereas struggles against stiffer opposition defences ?

That is my take - maybe I under estimate his ability but he was less than prolific for us. Certainly I do not recall him terrorise 1st div opponents.

i rate hoops. think he will come good for us. what worries me is that if we keep on putting him out on loan then he will eventually want to move to another club. honestly think this will then come back to bite us in the ****.

I don't think will be the case, Matty. Gary Hooper is someone very wrong who clearly has the potential to score goals. I think the original intention was to bring him in and send him out on loan. It was only due to our striking problems last year that he ever played at all.

He needs to play games consistently. He's probably not had more than 5 games in a row for us but he needs 20 odd to get properly fit, sharp and improve his game.

Ideally I'd like to see him stay at Hereford for the rest of the season and then next year go out on loan for the entire season to a strong League 2 side and score 20 goals.

Then he'd come back as a better player who has shown he can score goals and will be ready to move up to hopefully Championship level.

Really don't understand this sentence although I agree with a lot of what you're saying. It'll do Hoops good to stay out on loan (banging goals in for fun) like he did at the end of last season, unless we need him back at short notice - God forbid.

No idea what I'm on about there. Note to self: always check what you've written and don't try to do too many things at once!
