I've already sold 9 copies of this programme to various clients, I'm with Barclays and they are always calling to sell me something, so it didn't really come as a surprise to me.

So was just wondering if anybody else saw it, is bothered about it or doesn't give two hoots?

Meant to Sky+ it but missed it as I was out last night.
Doesn't surprise me though what any of these financial call-centres get up to.

I work for a financial organisation in Basildon and the call centre is 100% professional...don't tar everybody with the same brush!

OK, sorry.
I used to work for Abbey and the mistakes I had to solve that resulted from sloppy work in the call-centre was scary. Was only speaking from experience. Maybe I should have said "some" of these call-centres!

From a banking perspective I have to say that the sad reality is the major banks in this country are all about sell, sell, sell. This could have been filmed in branches of any one of the big 4 (Lloyds TSB, Barclays, NatWest, HSBC). Everything staff do is target driven, about pound notes and cross sales - not about what is right for the customer.

That's not to say that everyone who works there is up to the sort of tricks that were shown up in this show. It just means that the sort of pressure heaped on sellers in banks is so intense that inevitably some staff will fold and resort to underhand tactics to meet ever demanding and unrealistic targets. With the same people at a management level responsible for both the compliance and sales of the business it means a conflict of interest, and blind eyes are occasionally turned.
