Why sign new players and not play them?

I think the main reason is to not **** off the current players. You have to let them know that they have competition, but give them a chance to see off that competition. If they don’t take that chance, they can’t complain.
Well how well did macouglin do last season ?

I can understand wanting to bed players in, introductions etc. if you have a squad that is functioning and the new signing improves on that. But when there is an obvious deficiency in midfield for us that we have and a signing has been made to strengthen it, then put them straight in.

I remember Tilly signing Carl Pettefer and he was introduced to the squad in the changing rooms at Bradford, before making his debut in a 2-0 win. Why was he thrown in? Because he gave us something we didn't have and needed.

They need time to bed in and get used to the others - who would you have them replace out of a team that won during the week?

Well, I'd bench McLaughlin for the forseeable future.

What does he bring? He hasn't scored in Donkey's year and doesn't assist either. Waste of wages.

He's not good enough for the bench, I'd rather have Theo out wide, at least he'll try.
