Echo News Will Atkinson and Rhys Murphy suffer injuries in Southend United's win against Yeovil

Hmmm....don't like the sound of that.
Hams are notorious for instant healing. I'll bet now we don't see Atko on Saturday, neither Murphy.

The fact he was able to play to HT and its described as a tight hamstring probably indicates nothing too serious. Sure he wont be risked verses Dagenham. Suspect given he's experienced and proving his worth he knew when it would be foolish for him and the team to go back out.

As stated above much depends on whether Atkos own awareness has helped, by him recognising a slight strain and coming off in good time, or whether there is any kind of tear from Grade 1 to 3, More common event in older players, and a tear, brings on a higher risk of a second event. Sadly Agogo suffered a tear as well that put him out for some time and he was naturally a bit tentative when first coming back as some care sometimes needs to be taken first game or two back

Fingers crossed for him given recent events and his efforts and contribution, , but if a more serious tear wont be seen for a while and fuels the issue about risks of injury with mature players, like Demi, White, Coulson, Agogo , Atkinson, especially if they have been round the block a bit and suffered a lot of knocks over the years

Also might raise temperature on contract

You forgot about those other old crocks like Gard, Kinali, Clifford, Phillips, Bridge, Ralph, Akinola, ANG, Drew, Kelman and Lapata...All had serious injuries.

We should go for established players in their mid twenties who never get injured like Hump, Barratt, Hopper, Coker, Oxley, McLaughlin, Dieng and Mantom
