It was Stu Francis who used to say 'oh I could crush a grape' sadly I am sure Stu died a few years back .
As to the origin or originator of the phrase in "The Code of the Woosters" by P.G. Woodhouse (first published in 1938), Stiffy Byng tells Bertram Wooster "I'm so happy I could bite a grape" but the term may well have been in use before then.

I think there will be further delays, because the whole thing is so complicated and we are dealing with some interesting narcissistic tendencies!
