He’s got the promotion on his CV. Won the NLN.

Not at all surprised to see him move on.

He ticks pretty much every box people look for in an up and coming manager:

Is a name (either played for the club or played Premiership) (was at Newcastle)
Won a promotion (NLN Champions)
Got team challenging at the top of the next division (in play-offs, have best goal difference in division)
Developed players who’ll be sold for lots of money (eg Langstaff)

Optional bonuses:
Had cup success (took Gateshead to Wembley last season)
Plays good football

Appointments don’t always work out (and this will be quite the shift from Alexander, which may be a challenge) but that looks like a great one.
