Wimbledon 2017

It'll be interesting when the big 5 retire, which probably won't be too long. The field will be wide open, there's not really anyone to their standard...which is no suprise at 3 of them are probably the best tennis players ever in the history of the game...(sorry Andy & Stan).

That lot have effectively blocked out an entire generation. Zverev the other week was the first player born in the 1990s to win a Master Series title - that's bonkers.

We've been lucky to have these guys that's for sure.

...and Pete...Sampras that is.

I dunno, I think the current top 5 would have seen him off. The game is so different from Sampras & Agassi's day.

I'm with MK here. Never even getting to the final of the French, let alone winning it, would also have to be a bit of a mark against Pistol Pete. Indisputably great of course, but just behind the current 'big 3' for me.

Is this the 1st shock of the tournament so far? World number 3 Stan Wawrinka out in the first round.

Feds & Djoko through easily as both their opponents quit in the 2nd set due to injury. £35K for one and a bit sets of tennis......

There have been a lot of withdrawals in this first round; short changing the paying public somewhat. But as you say, players earn a nice wedge just for stepping out on to the court - feels like a solution needs to be found.

There is one, it just isn't used at the slams. Players who withdraw before the 1st round get their prize money anyway and a lucky loser takes their place. The lucky loser doesn't make anything if they lose in the 1st round, but if they win it's all their's.

What a complete and utter ballsack

What a ****! Wasn't there something similar with a football shirt a few years back?
