I have a bag of wine gums in my pocket ready to share around my Shrimper friends in the West. Why, in memory if our good friend Dave Juniper who passed away this week. We shed tears together over many seasons, be it joy, annoyance, laughter..... he used pass around assorted sweets over the seasons......today these are for you...it is what being a Shrimper is all about.....come on you BLUES!

Very sad to learn Dave's passing always enjoyed his company.Anyone know when the funeral will be

That is sad news indeed. I first met Dave playing for the old Southendian 5ths in the borough comb. back in the 1980's . Being a 5th team we were often short of players and got tonked most weeks. Watching the current Blues squad this season has reminded me of those days! I would add that Dave was the senior player of that era and had undoubtedly played at a higher level. R.I.P. Dave

Dave was a very close family friend of ours having occupied the room next to my Nan in her care home in Leigh for the past few years. Lovely guy, extremely friendly and always smiling. He will be sadly missed. RIP.

Only knew him through Old Boys football but he was a great bloke and a kind man.

RIP Dave.

I started playing in Old Boys sides that Dave was in during the 70's! Such a very funny, genuine nice guy! RIP Dave Juniper.

Very sorry to hear about this and I missed the send off today. Worked with Dave at Access in the good old days there.
He did indeed contribute to the Roar , not as a common Vera Punjedi, he was in fact a Dame!
Sadly missed.
