We haven't beaten anyone in the top 9. Thats possibly the difference fromus and playoffs.
Also if you look at the top 9 they're well ahead of the rest. Thats a gap we desperately need to close for next season.

THat is a very good observation matty. bt on our performances against some of these teams the results have been slightly harsh on us.

Pato - Not against us, though to be fair, when the Hull boss himself says Hull were fortunate, then you have a point! But maybe that is the sign of a quality side? Play cr*p but still win/draw?

Dazza you have no clue how well Southend can play if they want to...I think we would've at least got a point from Saturday if we'd played anywhere near our best this season. We didn't stay unbeaten since the 17th(?) January at home before you beat us for nothing you know.

I wasn't having a go mate. But I stand by what I said. Football is all ifs and buts. If we had beaten the teams we should have at home, we would be top. Maybe if you had played to your best on Saturday you would have got all three points, never mind one. But maybe if we had played to our best, we would have got a lot more goals?

I was thinking we didn't have the quality but we didn't beat 3 division two teams without having the quality.
