Flying the flag for SUFC in Sai Kung, Hong Kong
Moved in this morning, though I've had the keys since Saturday and gradually moved things in since, but as the serviced apartment ran out this morning I made full use of it. Cable man has just been for Internet and Cable TV though for some reason order is screwed up as I clearly ordered wireless and I'm hardwired. No matter phoned the shop up, they screwed up, wireless on the way. Gotta love HK for the 2 or max 4 hour delivery windows and when they commit to a time they text or phone you then turn up in the alloted slot.

Cable TV would be fantastic (including UK footie natch + world cup) but I'll let you know a bit later on when TV turns up. Expecting chaos today though most of you will be in bed for it. I have a further four deliveries due today all of which will no doubt get in each others way. One is from IKEA that is still packed out at 10pm on a Sunday night. The HKers certainly like to shop.

Now to create a photobucket account (I think I have an old one anyway) or similar. At the very least I promised a photo of SUFC exile mug in-situ.

Apologies for the shaky hand - the mug is in each of the pictures and I will beat you to the comment that you can't see me in any of them. All the furniture + kitchen equipment + bed for bedroom 2 purchased from a fellow Englishman who is leaving. Nothing more than 18 months old, virtually all from IKEA and all for £600 though it did cost £100 for delivery

Kitchen 1, unusual in what they call a village house to get a kitchen bigger than about 6*4

Kitchen 2

Living room, second view - enough room for a dining table behind sofa

Second bathroom

Oooh, the gasman has just turned up, that's one less delivery to worry about

Add to that TV just arrived (Yay !!! - though I need to set it up myself) - also Microwave, kettle, toaster, Vacuum cleaner.

IKEA due in around an hours time - they are assembling the bed and wardrobes.

Fridge due anytime within the next 90 mins. Then I'm done. Good job coz I'm bloody starving and overlooked that obvious fact on my way here this morning.

Living in a box, living in a cardboard box(great song),looks just like any house in eastwood so you must feel at home, whens the ahem maid moving in?

Great stuff Tone and lovin the mug shots!!!

If you haven't ordered your SUFC Exile mug then there is still stock. Priced at £7.99 +P&P with all profit going to the Exiles player sponsorship

Might have asked this already, but where in HK are you living?

In a small village in Clearwater Bay. About a 50 min door to door combo of minibus and underground with a 5 min walk to work. A decent smattering of Brits on my village but the locals seem friendly. They think I'm mad at work. 50 mins with most of that on an air conditioned tube with full data access eg Skype. I'll try to educate them on the joys of UK commuting. Didn't want to live on top of work and party town. Beautiful countryside and beaches for me.

Blimey, that's some way out. It is nice out there though. Mate of mine lives over that way. He's lived all over but prefers it out there, although he's a mental cyclist and likes it as it's a better base from which to go out for decent rides.

The key to commuting IMO isn't the time on the tube/train/bus but the time spent getting from your front door to the station and then at the other end from the station to your office. That's the time that's the real killer.

So you've moved to the HK version of Southend?

22 degrees, humid Aircon raging, humidifier raging. Don't think I'll be needing the winter duvet. The summer tog mark II may well go for a Burton. Gonna feel strange tonight but I'm preparing in style with a Tetleys in the Exlie mug. Up since 430. Busy all day now I'm cream crackered. Nite all.
