Ok, it’s Saturday, 12th December 2020 and time to announce the three prize winners from the Charity Raffle for ONE LOVE Soup Kitchen Southend.

1st Prize winner of £150 is: @Flinty

2nd Prize winner of £75 is: @Massimo Giovanni

3rd Prize winner of £50 is: @estherpark

Congratulations to all three prize winners and a huge vote of thanks to every Zoner that took part in this raffle. It is through your kindness and generosity that folk far less privileged than most of us will be able to visit the One Love Soup Kitchen and get a warm drink and food this Christmas.

When @Cricko first announced this Christmas raffle he mentioned that he would also be offering up his treasured collection of old Southend United shirts and numerous photographs including a signed Freddy Eastwood photo of ‘that goal’ against Man U. @Cricko will be gathering together this collection of memorabilia over Christmas and a separate draw will take place when he has managed that herculean task.

Once again, from all at ShrimperZone, our heartfelt thanks for your generosity and we wish you and your families a very merry and healthy Christmas.

For those that are interested in the mechanics of how the prize winners were arrived at, all entries for each draw were entered into a random name picker, link below

Wow, I never win raffles or draws so this is a nice surprise !

Next June I'm actually doing a 3 day charity challenge in the Lake District with members of the running club I belong to covering 65 miles and 5700m of ascent. We are doing this in aid of Cardiac Arrest in the Young (CAR) and Southend Hospital Charity so would like, if you don't mind, to collect these winnings to put them towards these causes as I need to raise at least £500.00. I must add at this point that I am entirely paying my own way on the walk and all monies raised will go directly to the charities mentioned above.

Many thanks for organising this with a fantastic amount raised for One Love, which funnily enough was one of the charities under consideration for the walk !

Great stuff - can I ask, is the CAR charity, the Carli Lansley one? I only ask because the whole family are Southend supporters, and I know Carli's widower and children fairly well.

The final figure to One Love after paying out prizes and another anonymous donation is a staggering.

£1000.00

Thank you all so much to those that donated and bought tickets aswell as those that chose to donate back any winning and the anonymous donor.£40 was paid direct to OL so we did not count that.

I will sort out the SUFC bits over Xmas and we will do a draw in January. I will also get the prize money out to the winners over the next day or so and pay OL the balance.

Thanks to @Rootshallbloke for all his help and once again THANK YOU to all Zoners that took part. This will really make a difference to others.:Worthy:

Have a great Christmas people. X
