I imagine the council are getting more than a little pee'd off with Ronald now.
We have to remember that the council are due a nice little windfall from this project (£5m plus If I remember rightly) for road improvements and general tidying up around the town. I believe quite a chunk of that is due before work can even start as well. Plus it is holding up their "pedestrianised" plans for the town centre area of London Road.
If this 3 sided monstrosity gets built whilst Ron is in control. I for one will be astounded.
What are we actually wait for at the moment? Gone mighty quite again
Someone to give Ron some more money. Or him to leave. I'm not fussed either way.
The amended plans for the Sainsbury store have been passed. But not the ones for the stadium. Add to that still no agreement with some of the shops on Vic Ave. Plus Ron not stumping up the required cash for SBC, as part of the S106 agreement. And we are still a million miles away from anything positive happening.I thought Sainsburys was putting up the money in order to get us out of roots hall. All amended plans seem to have been passed, yet still no movement.
Something has got to give soon. Either it starts, or it officially collapses in a heap.
I'm hoping that with planning in place, its an attractive prospect for someone else to bail it out if (when) Ron declares it tits up
remind me, what was the changes to the stadium plans? Was it change of use after the Casino pulled out? I thought the 'phased' approach had been passed. The amended plans for the Sainsbury store have been passed. But not the ones for the stadium. On the Roots hall side of things, has Prospects finally been sorted or are they likely to do a runner with the deposit again? Shops face CPO which I would have hoped the council would be persuing by now. It was only the scuzzy little pizza place(s) holding out wasn't it? Mind you; and I'm no expert, but I suspect any real attempts on CPO will be called in for review by the govenment.
I'm sure the S106 money would be easily found if that was the only thing between Ron and his nest egg coming to Fruition and Sainsburys building a new flagship store.
