Flattering win for them. Draw would have been fair. Officials useless! Cold and fed up..

Brace yourself, the influx of posters who love it and only post when we lose are incoming. Just remember folks being upset and fuming about results changes nothing, neither does scapegoating and abusing players who try their best. Just relax, have a good week and see what happens at the next game.

I'll grab my tin helmet. We should have escaped with a draw. Need to get back to winning ways pdq

Couldn't go today but ... Would have preferred Proser and Thompson at the back. Barratt looked slow(er) when he came on last week and Paul Clark pointed out on the radio he was likely to give a penalty away when he hugs the forwards. Glad Deegan had a start.

BUT ... other teams will lose games between now and May so it is not all over, we just need to start taking opportunites and having a go not looking for a pass when in the box

Think the past two results have shown our abilities will only get us to the play offs. We have had too many chances to capitalise on others results and we haven't. Notice it's getting close with the chance of us missing out on the play off's, now that would be devastating.

Sure we'll get loads of experts on here that weren't at the game. Let's wait for reports from people who actually went to the game before blaming individuals.

Thought Barrett was immense & rolled back the years. Pigott's finish was class, but poor Cassidy if he had put that open goal away? However what let us down was:

1 subs. They made changes before we did and picked it up where we were tiring. Brown waits until we concede to make changes . Not sure why Timlin went off?
2. At 2-1 we have to kill the game off, this is what good teams do and we can't do. Can we recall being 1 up then 2-1 down and going on to win 4-2?

3 Leonard. No doubt he will be 1st name on team sheet next week, but this must rankle with other players Brown drops.
thats it for now finally edging out the car park!

My fears as well, looking at the fixtures I can't see a win until Cambridge I really can't , the fixtures coming up are winnable but this is sufc so no doubt we will lose them all

Nows the time for brown to face reality. The first choice CBs are Prosser and Thomson. Next on line is Williams. Barrett is too old and too slow. Love the guy but throw the rose-tinted everybody. Bringing him back was divisive and complicates. Coker and White are fine. Leonard should always sit in front of the back four. Timlin and Worell are always must starts then pick two from the other mids. Piggott is the only breath of fresh air recently. Use Clifford to clean the toilets as all he ever does is scrub along doing bugger all in the goal scoring department. Corr, then Shaq, to partner Piggott. It's pretty obvious what the first team should be and to start old man Barrett and Bolger who is Ryman at best is beyond baffling. Grrrrhhhh.

Amazing how one 18-year old who has played only four professional games can make such a difference when he came on; earned the penalty, scored the third goal and, following another lightning run, crossed for the fourth. Stevenage have stumbled upon a pearl in Ben Kennedy. Couldn't he have waited until next week to play such a blinder.....?

By sounds of things Leonard needs a game on the bench. Gutting result, made worse by the result last week. We are so unpredictable.. You never know we might not lose another now for ten games. Living in hope.

On way home now, a game that looked won at 2-1, yet somehow lost. Thought Bentley was at fault first goal, Lenny poor tackle for pen, Bolger backed off for the third and Coker gave ball away for the fourth. We did little going forward really but did well to get back into the game. At 2-2 Cassidy should have scored. Thought Barrett and Bolger did well up until last 15 minutes. Deegan worked hard but has no ability on the ball, Timlin worked hard yet gets taken off and Leonard stays on . All in all a game we should have won but threw away. The crowd our end were noisy, but the little boys at the back who think it amusing to tell us parents to F off when we ask them to sit down as our kids can't see need to grow up. Then to start on the stewards who asked them to move as they were standng in the gangway, u need to take a reality check and appreciate we are all there to support Southend and enjoy it, not to have a go at each other. Not convinced brown is right for the job anymore, we have the players but they are not being managed, he comes out with excuses when it's his responsibility.

At least we're going to have a 'Huuuurahh' in March then!

I just dont think Brown has the tactical nous to beat the best teams in this division. If its play-offs then I fear it will be another season in League 2 next season. Our record against teams in form or teams at the top of the league is shocking.
