Wait, wasn't this thread supposed to have happened in October? Maybe he agreed to sign it on Boxing Day and there was so much confusion they've left it until now.

Seriously though, great news and hopefully can kick on with other contracts and signings now.

Fair enough. Good news, if only if it means more certainty around the place.

Southend United manager Phil Brown signs new three year contract

SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown has signed a new three year deal to remain at Roots Hall.

Has not agreed he has signed a three year deal today .Now he has put pen to paper hopfully Timms ans Degan will follow .Also many new faces to add to our squad for the league ONE battle a head .

Brilliant news, makes a stable situation at the club. He must be aware of good things to come, so he can build on our recent success.

There must be backing for new players or he would not have signed.

Can't wait for new season!

Just means we have to pay him off more if we lose a few games next year and the hatchet mob start sharpening their.....errr..hatchets, and Ron wants rid

i was speaking to Ron Martin a couple of years back and he said no Chairman would put himself in a position where it would cost the club a fortune to pay off a managers contract. The amount of managers that are sacked bears testimony to this.

Phil seems to have bought in to the atmosphere of writing comedy lines on here.

“I think this will open the floodgates to one or two others now and we can really push on for next season now.”

surely that s more of a brook, or a small stream ?

yep, top stuff, stability to carry on the team spirit together with a sprinkling (not a tidal flow) of new players is what we need and then i think we have the formula for a good season ahead. Oh, and 4 4 2 too.

Does 4 new forwards represent a sprinkling?
