but the costs of living lower are "valued" at worthy of a 1% rise for NHS workers.

To be fair, it is now set by an independent watchdog rather than MPs themselves, and whilst they have had salary increases in the last few years they have largely been accompanied by big cuts to pensions, expenses, etc so that overall they aren't actually any better off.Drives me absolutely mad. In the grand scheme of things MPs don't get paid a great deal.
I would prefer to see them earn a lot more say £150K but be banned from taking any other paid positions.
