Back fired a little....more of a disaster, lets hope Hendrie doesn't get injured or suspended in the first few weeks, pointless playing injured players this close to the start, great thinking, so no cover for left back and only 1 CH .....at the moment, so JW has his work cut out if we get problems

What was the alternative? Coker's been injured most of pre-season, without this match he wouldn't have had any pre season matches before the season, given its a suspected broken leg it sounds more like bad luck than bringing him back in too early.

Coker has been out for several weeks. This was entirely sensible to help him get some match fitness. Just because it went wrong doesn't mean it wasn't the correct decision to play him.

Fingers crossed it's not too serious and he's back soon.

Damn. Thank goodness for Hendrie.

Get well soon Ben. Shows how important cover players are like White who can play elsewhere.

Really? Maybe you didn't see him against Brighton,

Really gutted for Ben if this is true, big loss for the team

Gutted for Cokes, he was on fine form yesterday. He has had a lot of incidents with his ankles and legs over recent years and I hope this is not as serious as it would initially seem.

Nooooooo, this is a blow on the edge of the season KO.
On a good note I hear Stephen Mac (aka boy band) came through a game this afternoon

At least it's not one of those terrible breaks with a bone sticking out or such. Hopefully it's not broken, but if it is he is back soon

Maybe we should think about not using the Breaking News prefix when posting about this news, it's almost adding insult to injury!

So if it is broken, what are we all thinking about him being up to full match fitness again? Late November /Early December?

did we need to play this game 4 days before the season starts, I would have thought Brown knew his starting line up after the Cambridge game, and now we are another player down, it could have been avoided by not playing a stupid behind closed doors game.....

Keep wearing the hindsight glasses, they give you 20:20 vision you know.

Blues defender Coker expected to be out for six months after operation

SOUTHEND United left-back Ben Coker is facing up to six months on the sidelines with a broken leg.
