It is the 4th qualifying round this weekend (14th October) and the clubs that make it through will be in the draw along with Southend United for the 1st round that is to be held on 4th November.

Still a number of local teams in the draw including Billericay Town and Leyton Orient.

Who knows what success we will have this year but I very much hope that we improve on last season when we were (I think) the very first league club out of the competition.

Some may suggest that with the current injury position a cup run is not going to be helpful. I don't agree with that particularly when we have many younger players who will benefit from a cup game or two.

Same here - winning is a good habit to have and a cup run potentially gives us break from the norm.

lowest ranked non-league club left in the competition at home please.

Which, as of today, is Shildon in County Durham who are at Step 9 (Essex Senior League level). They got to the FA Vase semi-final a few years back. They will probably lose on Saturday so that leaves Step 8 of which we are guaranteed two (Haringey Boro or Heybridge Swifts and Scarborough Ath or Hyde) with chances for Ossett, South Shields and Paulton Rovers all of whom play "Conference" sides.

Blimey, I played on their ground once -assuming they're still based in Maldon.

Not again...

How about a low ranked Conference side who will see this as the highlight of their season, their FA Cup final, the reason why they support a no-hope, nothing team that usually has nothing else to play for except staving off the enivitability of relegation?

So, Leyton Orient it is then. :hilarious:
