"Either Interviewing or speaking to 30 players" does not mean he interviewed all 30 people .

However as it is highly unlikely that he interviewed anyone without speaking to them , "Interviewing and speaking to 30 players" does imply that he interviewed all of them .

And I am sure the intended phrase was the former

I think, as a club, we are good at transfers. Most players who come in are a success. That hasn't always been the case at Southend (late 90s and early 2000s esp.) and certainly isn't the case elsewhere.

Our last decade that is almost the case. But why would we if you look at the last 3 managers Ron has chosen. They are best using their contacts and name within the game. There are hundreds of very decent players available every summer for free. Take Oxley for an example, absolutely no chance of finding a better keeper in the lower leagues.

Until Ps, PB and CP arrived at Southend their previous jobs were at a higher level of management. So they wont be spending spare Tuesday nights watching Isthmian league fixtures, as some on here expect.
