Question Covid vaccine passes

In England, people will need to use their NHS Covid Pass to gain entry to:
  • Nightclubs
  • Indoor unseated venues with more than 500 people
  • Unseated outdoor venues with more than 4,000 people
  • Any venue with more than 10,000 people
Instead of a Covid passport, people will also be able to show proof of a negative result from a recent lateral flow test.

So as you can see no issue for us (at home). Thank goodness we are not in the Championship or it would be a real headache. ?

It's certainly a problem for a Championship side like Fulham.

Went to Bluewater this afternoon.

Unbelievable amount of people not wearing face coverings. Most of them were late teens and early 20’s.

Also a lot of older adults who should know better, either thick or pig ignorant.
Or just interpreting the world wide data and realising how much of an overreaction it is to bring them back with no real justification.

I wonder how you explain the UK's figures for covid infection are so much higher than in the majority of EU 27 countries'.
Have to be honest I'm not getting into all this again. But the restrictions have been brought back because of the new Omicron variant which as current not one person has died from worldwide. South Africa where apparently it was so bad didn't change their restrictions at all.

As far as the UK is concerned you'd have to wait until at least another fortnight for any deaths from Omincron to be be reported. It's obviously a joke to suggest that nobody worldwide has died from this new variant.Hopefully the UK's (and elsewhere's) booster jabs will be sufficient to ensure that nobody who's been thus vacinated will die.I remember being told after my second jab (back in April) that afterwards nobody would die or be hospitalised from Delta. It would appear that the booster is 75 % effective against the new variant (94% against Delta). It seems to me (and a lot of others) that HMG's new policies are entirely sensible.

...on the flip side, if it turns out to be the start of something big was wearing a mask THAT much or an ordeal ? and do they really know the data yet, on this variant ? too early to tell, isn't it ?

Nope no joke. Here's a report of the WHO. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ted-from-omicron-yet-as-covid-variant-spreads

Indeed we will have to wait a bit longer for the deaths to be reported as nobodies died yet.

They can tell already from the data it is nowhere near as deadly. On the press run this morning they wouldn't even confirm if those in hospital who are now reported to have the new variant were in hospital for it.

This is the last I'll say on it. With millions vaccinated you cannot continue to bring restrictions in with every new variant with a virus that will always mutate. Especially when you promised everyone an irreversible roadmap to get everybody vaccinated.

Even more so when they told everyone last Christmas you couldn't see your family in case you killed gran and they had multiple parties themselves. The questioning has been wrong on this subject in my opinion. Instead of did they have parties. We should be asking if they felt they were ok and safe to not follow the rules were the rules really necessary?

And that's me done.

It's all the unknown again.

I'm hearing all kinds of stuff coming out of the media. One thing I did hear, a Scottish Scientist saying Omicron could be a blessing, now being a dominant variant and less life threatening, could kill off all the other variants!!! Fingers crossed.

As for those home test kits, they're horrible, I woke up with a really sore throat this morning, took a test and I was in bits sticking it right up my nose and the back of my throat. I had tears in my eyes whilst gagging like a loon :(

The issue is, and will become more apparent is that the Omnicron virus is hospitalising people who have not had the vaccine.

These selfish people are taking up vital NHS resources to which would be ultimately better served treating people with cancer and other life threatening conditions.

By wearing masks the spread of the virus will be reduced.

If you’re either too selfish to have the vaccine or to wear a face covering then I have absolutely no respect or care whether they catch covid. What I do care about is the innocent people who are being deprived medical care due to such incredible self centred behaviour.

January lockdown beckons…

So how do you feel about the innocent people who are being deprived appointments to give booster vaccinations to healthy people in their late teens and 20's who are already double vaccinated and at very very little risk to the virus?

The new(ish) lateral flow tests only go up your nose.

Sadly not much longer https://www.bbc.com/news/live/uk-59632655

Of course this is today's news.We don't yet know whether the person who died, died of Omicron or just with it.Or whether the person was fully vacinated or not. What is inevitable (IMO) is that there will be more such deaths.
