    A "Past their Prime" XI

So, players who were once pretty good and who have played for us either at the tail end of their careers or at any rate, past their prime... What's the best side we can put out? Improvements to the below squad welcomed. Neville Southall Chris Ramsey Frank Lampard Christian Dailly Michael...

    Golden goal

https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2017/sep/14/golden-goal-scott-sinclair-plymouth-barnet-2007 Liked this piece which describes Scott Sinclair's debut goal for Plymouth at Barnet. What's your golden goal by a SUFC player? (Doesn't have to be a debut goal).
  3. Shaun Goater

Just noticed that Shaun Goater has been appointed as manager of the newly re-formed (after liquidation) Ilkeston FC.

    Shrimperama bad mouthing Southend

I am not a great fan of shrimperzoners going onto other Forums and winding up that board. We don't like it when people do it on here and so feel we should not be hypocrites. But what has really got my goat up is Shrimperama going on Colchester board and slagging off Southend area and calling it...

    Worrall's goal

Can Worrall's goal last the season and be the best? That will take some beating. Class from the winger.
  9. Fleetwood's goal

Bizzarely, I quite liked this (including Bolgers 'walk of shame') ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNoBPyvXmP0
  10. Question Would you sign Kevin Davies?

Just seen that Kevin Davies has been released. My question is would you be happy if he joined Southend? I know he is in the twilight of his career, but he still did a good job at Preston last season. I know he doesn't have the pace but he provides something different, similar to what Goater...

    Feed the ....... ?

So we fed the Goat and Shaun scored... We fed the Moose and Franck scored. We fed the Pigg and Joe scored. Can we get a Southend animal welfare 11 or do we need to loan some in?
  12. I just saw a goal

After watching 355 minutes of live football without seeing a single goal I've finally seen someone put the ball in the net. Just a shame it was, at the Boleyn ground and even worse, scored by a hammer. Incredible game tonight. Pity the toffees couldn't get over the line.

    The Goat

Seems like Shaun Goater will be on Soccer Am next Saturday. I know most don't watch it anymore but I'd be interested to see if Shaun mentioned us and what he has to say
  14. Outfield players in goal

Which outfield players have had to go in goal? I'm sure there's been one in recent memory. Also I remember when Donovanr Ricketts was sent off (and the racism claims) and Dean Windass went in goal and played pretty well. I love it when it happens.

Sol Campbell - overlooked on England captaincy on racial grounds?

Used to quite like Campbell but he's just gone right down in my estimation with this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2571206/Sol-Campbell-I-overlooked-England-captaincy-colour-skin.html He came into the England squad when Tony Adams was captain, and Shearer took it over...
