Battrick - Week 13 pops

Just the 1 pop today for me.

Mr Wicketkeeper popped to superb. Will keep training him for a while and will see how important they are going to be in the F.C games and then decide on what to do with that net.

Kev

Rennie popped in concentration.

11. Mark Rennie - 17 yo, BT Rating=23,608
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, superb batting form, strong bowling form, lively
An attacking player with superb leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: proficient Concentration: proficient
Bowling: strong Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: proficient

Must resist temptation to sell.

A couple for me today

Phillip Evelyn - 19 yo, BT Rating=43,614
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
A cautious player with feeble leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: respectable Wicket Keeping: superb
Batting: remarkable Concentration: quality
Bowling: worthless Consistency: feeble
Fielding: worthless

Carl Schoeman - 18 yo, BT Rating=31,464
LH Batsman, RF Bowler, superb batting form, competent bowling form, energetic
An attacking player with mediocre leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: strong Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: proficient Concentration: quality
Bowling: proficient Consistency: respectable
Fielding: competent

I'm looking to stop Evelyn's W/K training at Remarkable otherwise the wages are going to be a bit steep. By then he'll be something like Wonderful Batting, Wondeful Concentration, which will add up to about 23,500 wages. If I carry him on to Wonderful W/K, by the time he gets there he'll be close to another pop in batting, and will also have popped twice more in conc, which is going to make the wages something like 36k.

And if anyone wants a game this week then challenge away again. I beat a weakened Crabby team with relative ease so someone around his standard would be nice!

Kev

Bugger all and I got tthrashed by Mrs BB
She had 1 1st team bowler and 1 who is in and out of the 1st team playing, and I think that was the difference looking at the scores and the ratings.

bumper(ish) day for me..

5. Andy Fray - 19 yo, BT Rating=28,483

An attacking player with respectable leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Sorry. Just trying to improve the form of some of my trainees and backup players. Hope you weren't disappointed at the lack of competition.

Two pops this week

Bernard Hastings - 17 yo, BT Rating=13,639
LH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, strong batting form, superb bowling form, drained
A defensive player with woeful leadership skills and woeful experience.
Stamina: abysmal Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: respectable Concentration: woeful
Bowling: proficient Consistency: competent
Fielding: proficient

Popped in batting and fielding (now stopped fielding training). Hasn't played for weeks, probably won't play at all until the season after next. Hoping one less net and improving stamina training will start improving the drained rating.

Frank Mckie - 17 yo, BT Rating=6,026
RH Batsman, RF Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
A defensive player with feeble leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: respectable Concentration: competent
Bowling: worthless Consistency: woeful
Fielding: worthless

Concentration pop - currently averaging 76 (80+ in all matches)

That'll do nicely

Hastings looks a very tasty trainee, except for that stamina. I think you've probably got the right idea not playing him for at least the next season and a half.

Unfortunately all my players are getting on. I'm still training a 23yo, who takes forever to pop. I've only got one 19yo and one 18yo being trained, plus one 17yo youth pull who I'm only training up one level.

Hopefully next season a few nets will have been freed up and I can try and train a 17yo spinning all-rounder.

Kev was probably more worried than disappointed. He has a history of losing to worthless bowling attacks.

I'm in the same boat YB. Still waiting on 2 22 year olds to get their final pop to wonderful, and am contemplating whether or not to stop Granville's batting training once he pops to wonderful, his stats are:

20. Dave Granville - 20 yo, BT Rating=77,201
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, fresh
A destructive player with woeful leadership skills and feeble experience.
Stamina: strong Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: remarkable Concentration: remarkable
Bowling: remarkable Consistency: quality
Fielding: woeful

If I do, I'll have 3 nets for fresh 17 year olds (another could be taken off Rennie, who is on 2 bowl, 1 bat and 1 field). I'll probably train 2 batsmen. Hmm, decisions decisions.

'Arf 'Arf!

No probs mate, a win is a win and gave Lamb and Titterton a nice couple of knocks. Jackman and Raven were tested to bowl the 10 from the off, something which did and didn't work.

I played my full strength XI and its a team i will be sticking with. Im still 2/3 batters short and it may be a case of sacrificing a bowler so i can bring in a batter but i will see how i start come next season and what will happen with the FC games!

Yep YB - that was my newbie BT mistake, though I'd spent a few days researching before diving in. Fortunately I've had some good advice on the boards. I reckon he'll be a cracker the season after next (comparitively speaking given that I'm a newbie).

The one question that I would like answered here is as follows: I currently have 4 17yo trainees. Next season I'd like to get another so that as time goes by I'll eventually have one 21/22 yo to sell per season. Do I opt for a fifth trainee, sharing some current nets around or is there any merit in selling any of my (soon to be) 18yo trainees ?

Why are you wanting to sell one trainee a year?

My strategy was at first to train as many players as possible until I've got a core of decent players. Once I've done this and my players have finished their nets I'll look to train up one or two future star players on multiple nets to strengthen my team and one or two players to sell.

I'd therefore be in favour of getting a 5th trainee anyway. I'd recommend ensuring trainees have stamina and secondaries (I'm not fussed about fielding) and then train one all-rounder (batting, bowling and fielding), one wicketkeeper (one batting, one keeping net) then 3 bowlers and 2 batsmen on a single net each.

I only have 2 trainees now, Cunningham (who BB advises is now quality/strong at 18) who is long term and Suthers who will go up two more levels to masterful. 5 stamina nets elsewhere in readiness for FC. Both all rounders will be superb which is the important thing.

Next season I'm going to get a couple more batting trainees to finally start beefing up the batting so I can compete in III and maybe even II.

ORM, I'd definitely keep a fielding net on your all rounder. He'll never be fit anyway and the net's affect is doubled with both batting and bowling being trained.

Currently at Newark airport waiting to board for Las Vegas, lovely!

Training regime has changed through the season with a reduction in numbers being trained. I used the freed up nets to boost speed of training on my younger trainees. The next free nets will be changed to fitness to bring some of the others up a level or two.

Job (19) Bo – Superb, Superb
Scholes (20) Bo - Superb, Quality
Dilwar (19) 2x Ba – Superb , Quality
Toulson(20) Ba, Wk Fit – Quality, Exceptional , Wk=Qual
Hyron (18) 2 x Ba, Bo – Strong, Comp (BA); Prof, Comp (BO)

Just the one pop this week, but did pop is batting and concentration last week

8. Joseph Barnett - 17 yo, BT Rating=9,989

RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, strong batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
An attacking player with competent leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: proficient
Batting: proficient Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: feeble

And just noticed that Bartlett and Sugden are up to proficient experiece too
